Vaal Central Water will award 20 full-time bursaries for the 2026 academic year to deserving South African students pursuing qualifications relevant to the water & environmental sector. This Bursary is designed to support academic excellence , the transformation of technical professions , and the development of scarce & critical skills required in the water sector.

• Certified Qualifications
• Latest academic results
• Transcipt
• Proof of Residence / Acceptance Letter
• House hold payslips / Affidavit /SASSA Letter
• Motivational Letter

Study Of Fields Covered:

The Bursary will cover full-time undergraduate studies in the following areas:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Water Management
• Civil Engineering ( water infrastructure focus )
• Environmental Engineering
• Hydrology
• Cyber Security
• Chemical Engineering ( water-related specialisation)
• Water Treatment & Waste Management

Who Can Apply For This Bursary:

• Must be between the ages of 18-35 years
• Must be a South African citizen
• Must have completed Matric or be currently in Grade 12
• Must have atleast achieved 60% in Mathematics , Physical Science or related subjects.
• Must be studying or intend to study at a recognized & accredited South African Tertiary institution
• Applicants from Disadvantage backgrounds will be considered
• Must NOT be linked or obligated to another bursary

Preference Will Be Given To The Following:

• People Living with Disabilities
• Female Students
• Students from the Vaal Central Water’s fence -line communities in the Free-State & Northern Cape communities surrounding Vaal Central water operations who meet the academic requirements.
