SAPREF Bursary Programme 2026


South African Petroleum Refineries is a joint venture between Shell SA Refining and BP Southern Africa. It is the largest crude oil refinery in Southern Africa with 35% of South Africa’s refining capacity. It is located in the city of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa.

Closing Date : 12 February 2026

Requirements for the SAPREF Bursary :

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • 1st year or 2nd year students can apply for the year of 2026
  • Excellent academic results
  • You must be accepted by mainstream (PUBLIC) University in South Africa (NOT PRIVATE UNIVERSITY)
WHAT THE SAPREF BURSARY COVER:
    1.Residence fees
    2. Tuition fees
    3.Books
    4.Meals
    5.Monthly Allowance
    6. Exposure to refinery operations during school vacation.

    Study of Fields the Bursary will cover:

    • BCom/ Finance /Logistics/ Supply Chain Management / Human Resources Management
    • BSc Eng Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
    • BSc Eng Mechanical Engineering
    • BSc Eng Chemical Engineering
    • BSc Environmental Science

    1. Detailed / Updated CV
    2. Certified ID COPY ( NOT OLDER THAN 3MONTHS)
    3. YOUR LATEST STATEMENT OF RESULTS
    4. ACCEPTANCE LETTER OR PROOF OF REGISTRATION

    Only applicants that meet all the requirements will be considered for this bursary. If you do not hear back within 3 weeks after the closing date 12th of February 2026 , please consider your application unsuccessful.
