South African Petroleum Refineries is a joint venture between Shell SA Refining and BP Southern Africa. It is the largest crude oil refinery in Southern Africa with 35% of South Africa’s refining capacity. It is located in the city of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa.

- Must be a South African citizen
- 1st year or 2nd year students can apply for the year of 2026
- Excellent academic results
- You must be accepted by mainstream (PUBLIC) University in South Africa (NOT PRIVATE UNIVERSITY)
WHAT THE SAPREF BURSARY COVER:
1.Residence fees
2. Tuition fees
3.Books
4.Meals
5.Monthly Allowance
6. Exposure to refinery operations during school vacation.
Study of Fields the Bursary will cover:
- BCom/ Finance /Logistics/ Supply Chain Management / Human Resources Management
- BSc Eng Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
- BSc Eng Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Eng Chemical Engineering
- BSc Environmental Science
